What is the difference between a rebound hammer test and a UPV test?

The pull-out tester (IS 516 Part 5 Sec 4, ASTM C900) measures the force to pull an embedded insert or bar out of hardened concrete, an in-situ strength estimate. The pull-off tester (ASTM D4541/C1583) measures tensile bond strength between a coating, overlay or repair mortar and the substrate — often specified together for repair projects.
