Steel Testing Equipments Manufacturer, Suppliers and Exporter in India
Tvet Equipments is leading Steel Testing Equipments Manufacturer, and supplier and Exporter in India
Every reinforcement bar, structural section and prestressing strand that goes into a beam, column, bridge deck or pavement has to prove its yield strength, tensile strength, elongation and bend ductility before it is accepted on site — and that verification chain is exactly what our steel testing equipment range covers. This 15-product category runs from high-capacity electro-hydraulic servo-controlled universal testing machines that pull rebar and structural steel to failure, through cold bend, re-bend and rebar marking equipment that checks ductility on deformed bars, to Brinell, Rockwell and Charpy hardness/impact testers and extensometers that confirm hardness, toughness and precise elongation on machined steel and metal components. Every instrument is built to the IS, ASTM and ISO test methods that TMT/rebar manufacturers, steel fabricators, construction quality-control laboratories and NABL-accredited labs are required to work to, and the same specification is supplied to structural and civil engineering colleges setting up materials-testing practicals.
As a manufacturer-exporter operating from Greater Noida in the Delhi NCR industrial belt since 1986, Tvet Equipments builds its steel testing line under an ISO 9001-based quality system, with load-frame accuracy classes, calibration-referenced instrumentation and technical documentation that engineering colleges, PWD/highway laboratories and private steel testing houses can present directly to accreditation bodies, consultants and tender evaluation committees. The same equipment range is exported to laboratories in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Ethiopia, where road, rail and building codes increasingly require independently verified rebar and structural steel test data before a consignment is approved for use, and where TMT bar mills and construction contractors need the same tensile, bend and hardness apparatus used in Indian labs.
Tensile, Universal Testing & Bend/Re-Bend Machines
These nine machines apply and measure load — from full-scale servo-controlled UTMs for structural steel and large-diameter TMT bar, down to bench units for wire and thin sections, plus the bend, re-bend and marking equipment used specifically on reinforcement bar. Specifications are taken from the individual product pages.

As a TVET lab equipment manufacturer in India and engineering lab equipment manufacturer supplying polytechnics, engineering colleges and lab equipment for technical institutes, Tvet Equipments is a steel testing equipment manufacturer offering universal testing machines up to 1000 kN, a rebar bend and re-bend device, and Brinell and Rockwell hardness testers for TMT bar mills and construction QC labs across India and East Africa.
Applications and Markets Served
In India, our steel testing equipment is installed at TMT bar rolling mills verifying every batch of reinforcement before dispatch, structural steel fabrication workshops qualifying weld and parent-metal properties, construction quality-control laboratories on highway, metro and building projects, and civil/structural engineering colleges running materials-of-construction and strength-of-materials practicals. NABL-accredited third-party labs and state PWD/NHAI-approved facilities use the same UTM, bend/re-bend and hardness apparatus to issue test certificates that contractors and consultants can rely on.
Export demand from East Africa is a growing part of this category. TMT bar mills, road and building contractors, and university engineering departments in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Ethiopia specify universal testing machines and bend/re-bend testers to verify reinforcement before it is approved for infrastructure use, alongside hardness and impact testers for structural steel and fabricated components. Quotations for these markets are issued as dated FOB or CIF figures with export packing included, and manuals are supplied in English.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which standard governs tensile testing of TMT/reinforcement bars?
Tensile properties of reinforcement bar are tested to IS 1608 (general tensile method) read with IS 1786 (specification for high-strength deformed bars), or ASTM A370 / E8 for export projects working to American standards. Our 1000 kN and 300 kN Electro-Hydraulic Servo Control UTMs and the 100 kN Fully Automatic UTM cover the diameter and grade range typically specified for TMT bar.
What is a bend and re-bend test, and why is it required for rebar?
A bend test checks that a reinforcement bar can be bent through a specified angle without cracking; a re-bend test then straightens and re-bends it to check ductility after strain ageing. Both are required by IS 1786 and ASTM A615 before a bar grade is approved for construction use. Our Cold Bend Testing Machine (motorised, 160 kN) and manual Bend & Re-Bend Device both cover the 6–40 mm bar range used in IS 1599 / ASTM A615.
What UTM capacity do I need to test 32 mm or 40 mm TMT bars?
Larger-diameter, higher-grade TMT bars need proportionally more load to reach yield and ultimate tensile strength, so labs testing 25–40 mm bars typically specify a 300–1000 kN machine, while colleges and labs working with smaller diameters and coupon specimens can use a 100 kN or lower-capacity UTM. Tell us your maximum bar diameter and grade and we will recommend the matching model from our 5000 N to 1000 kN range.
What is the difference between Brinell and Rockwell hardness testing?
Brinell hardness testing presses a ball or diamond-cone indenter into the surface and measures the indentation diameter, giving a wide 8–650 HBW range suited to coarse-grained or large-section steel. Rockwell hardness testing reads a direct hardness value from indentation depth under a fixed test force (60/100/150 kgf, Scale B or C), making it faster for routine checks on finished parts. We supply a Brinell Hardness Tester and a Rockwell Hardness Tester with analogue indicator for both methods.
Do you supply calibration-traceable extensometers for elongation measurement?
Yes. The Mechanical Extensometer (0–50 mm range, 0.01 mm resolution) mounts directly on a UTM to measure elongation and proof stress on metal specimens, while the Non-Metallic Material Extensometer (25–200 mm gauge length, 500 mm travel) is built for large-strain rubber and plastic testing, both consistent with the extensometer classification principles in ISO 9513 / ASTM E83.
