How It Works
The mould's L-shaped split-frame construction allows the two halves to be assembled around the base plate to form a rigid cube cavity for casting, then separated cleanly to demould the hardened specimen without damaging its edges or faces — an advantage over a fully welded, one-piece mould for cast-iron construction. Fresh concrete is placed and compacted (by tamping or vibration) into the assembled mould, then cured and demoulded once it has set sufficiently to retain its shape.
