The Pull Out Test Apparatus evaluates in-situ concrete strength by measuring the force needed to extract a pre-installed insert from hardened concrete, using a hand-operated hydraulic pump for load application, up to 100 kN (10 tons) capacity.
How It Works
An insert (cast in, or post-installed into a drilled hole) is engaged by a bearing ring, which locates via a keyhole slot for quick, secure linkage. The hand-operated hydraulic pump then applies a steadily increasing pull-out force to the insert, resisted by a cone of concrete around it; a precise loading system minimises hydraulic backlash for smoother, more repeatable operation. An integral movement indicator identifies the point of "first movement" as well as total displacement before the insert pulls out, and the peak load reached correlates with the in-situ compressive strength of the surrounding concrete.
