The Rebar Corrosion Tester is a specialised electrochemical (natural potential method) instrument for detecting steel corrosion within concrete structures, which reduces the effective section area of reinforcement, causes concrete expansion and spalling, and reduces the structure's bearing capacity if left undetected.
How It Works
The instrument measures the natural (half-cell) potential of the reinforcing steel at points across the concrete surface using single- or double-electrode working modes; the results are displayed as hierarchical graphics, mapping variations in corrosion potential across the tested area to identify zones at higher risk of active corrosion.
