The Digimatic Concrete Impermeability Apparatus determines the depth to which water penetrates hardened concrete under pressure, using a fully automatic digital control panel with a high-precision pressure transducer for fine, precise pressure control across 6 test chambers.
How It Works
Concrete cube, cylinder, or prismatic specimens (up to 200 x 200 x 200mm) are located between quick-clamping chambers and sealed with special circular gaskets. Water is then applied under controlled pressure — up to 20 MPa (200 bar) — to one face of each specimen for a specified period, driven by the built-in air-pressure compressor and water tank system. After the test period, each specimen is split open and the maximum depth of visible water penetration is measured directly, giving a measure of the concrete's resistance to water penetration (a key durability indicator).
