The Wire Strand Aluminum Grip Piece is a one-off (single-use) grip accessory used to hold prestressing wire strand securely and reliably in a universal testing machine during a tensile test.
How It Works
Matched pairs of angled aluminium grip pieces seat around the strand within the testing machine's wedge-grip assembly, biting into the strand surface as tensile load is applied so that the full breaking load can be transmitted into the specimen without slippage. Because the grips are single-use, a fresh set is fitted for each test, ensuring consistent, reliable gripping performance and avoiding the risk of a worn grip affecting the recorded breaking load.
