Motorized Rebar Marking Machine

Product Code : TVT-STE-10608

The Motorized Rebar Marking Machine is a motorised gauge-length marking instrument for steel reinforcement bars, purpose-built to mark elongation reference points quickly, precisely and far more consistently than manual marking.

How It Works

The rebar specimen is clamped in place and the machine automatically stamps or marks gauge-length reference points along its length at a set increment, accommodating specimen diameters up to 40 mm and marking lengths of 400 mm (in 10 mm increments) or 405 mm (in 5 mm increments). Because the marking is motorised rather than done by hand, it delivers precise, repeatable gauge-length points with easy clamping for sample mounting, increasing laboratory throughput significantly over manual marking methods.

Applications

Gauge-length marking is a preparatory step for the elongation-after-fracture measurement required in tensile testing of steel reinforcement per ASTM E8/E8M: Standard Test Methods for Tension Testing of Metallic Materials, ASTM A370 and IS 1608: Metallic Materials – Tensile Testing at Ambient Temperature. Accurate, consistent gauge marks are essential for calculating percentage elongation correctly once the specimen has been pulled to failure on a universal testing machine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is precise gauge-length marking important?
The percentage elongation calculated after a tensile test depends directly on accurately marked gauge-length points on the specimen before testing; imprecise manual marking can introduce measurement error.

What diameter range does this machine support?
It supports rebar specimen diameters from 6 mm to 40 mm.

Does this replace the tensile testing machine?
No, it is used to prepare specimens by marking gauge lengths before they are tested to failure on a universal testing machine.
