Motorized Liquid Limit Apparatus Manufacturer,Supplier and Exporter in India
Product Code : TVT-STE-10544
The Motorized Liquid Limit Apparatus (Casagrande method) determines the moisture content at which clay soil transitions from a plastic to a liquid state, running electrically at a standard 120 blows per minute.
How It Works
A groove is cut through a soil pat placed in the brass cup; the motor-driven cam repeatedly lifts and drops the cup at 120 blows per minute onto a hard rubber base, and the number of blows required to close the groove over a specified length is recorded. This is repeated at varying moisture contents to determine the liquid limit — the moisture content corresponding to 25 blows.
Technical Specifications
| Parameter | Specification |

Data note: the published power rating of "0.075W" is unusually low for a motorised apparatus and may be a typo for 0.075kW (75W); presented here exactly as published rather than silently corrected.
Applications
Used to determine the liquid limit of clay and silty soils per ASTM D4318 and IS 2720 Part 5 (Casagrande method), a fundamental soil classification and Atterberg limits test for geotechnical characterisation.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does the liquid limit test determine?
The moisture content at which a clay soil changes from a plastic to a liquid state, a key Atterberg limit used in soil classification.
What is the standard blow rate for this test?
120 blows per minute, matching the Casagrande method standard.
Is a hand-operated version available?
Yes — the same apparatus family is available in a hand-operated version, using a crank instead of the motor drive.
