The Marshall Loading Frame 50kN is a dual-purpose bench-mounting loading frame combining California Bearing Ratio (CBR) penetration testing and Marshall stability testing in a single, rigid, DC-motorised machine, supplied without accessories so the correct penetration or breaking-head attachment can be ordered for the intended test.
How It Works
Depending on the accessory fitted, the machine drives either a CBR penetration piston at 1.2mm/min into a compacted soil specimen, or a Marshall breaking head at 50.8mm/min against a compacted bituminous specimen, with load and displacement/penetration recorded throughout. The DC power motor design reduces vibration and noise during operation, and the compact bench-mounting frame suits laboratories running both soil and bituminous mix testing.
