Tensile Jaws 8 Shape & Briquette Mould Manufacturer,Supplier and Exporter in India
Product Code : TVT-CMTE-10405
The Tensile Jaws "8" Shape & Briquette Mould from Tvet Equipments casts and tests dumb-bell (figure-8) shaped briquette specimens to determine the tensile strength of resin-based mortars and concretes, giving laboratories a complete casting-and-testing solution for tensile strength evaluation.
How It Works
Resin-based mortar or concrete is cast into the figure-8 shaped briquette mould, producing a dumb-bell profile specimen with a narrower cross-section at its centre. Once cured, the specimen is mounted in the matching "8"-shape tensile jaws, which grip the wider end sections of the briquette and apply a tensile pull until failure occurs at the narrower central section, giving a direct tensile strength reading.

Applications
This tensile jaws and briquette mould set is used to determine the tensile strength of resin-based (chemical-resistant) mortars, grouts and monolithic surfacings following the dumb-bell/figure-8 briquette approach referenced in ASTM C307, an important quality check for epoxy and polymer-modified mortar systems used in industrial flooring and chemical-resistant construction.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1. What standard governs figure-8 briquette tensile testing?
ASTM C307 (Tensile Strength of Chemical-Resistant Mortar, Grouts, and Monolithic Surfacings) is the reference standard for this dumb-bell briquette tensile test method.
Q2. What materials is this test suited to?
It is used to determine the tensile strength of resin-based mortars and concretes, including epoxy and chemical-resistant formulations.
Q3. Why is a dumb-bell (figure-8) shape used?
The narrower central cross-section concentrates stress at a defined location, ensuring the specimen fails at a predictable point under tensile load for a reliable, repeatable tensile strength reading.
