The Shrinkage Mould from Tvet Equipments casts mortar prisms with embedded gauge plugs for determining linear (drying) shrinkage, giving laboratories a durable, hardened-steel mould for preparing dimensionally accurate length-change specimens.
How It Works
Fresh mortar is cast into the mould, which incorporates embedded plugs at each end of the specimen to provide fixed reference points for length measurement. Once demoulded and cured, the prism's length is measured at intervals over a specified drying period, and the reduction in length between the two gauge plugs is used to calculate the percentage linear (drying) shrinkage of the mortar.
