The Probe Apparatus (28 kg) is a manually operated soil probing and in-situ sampling rod set capable of probing to depths of up to 13 metres, depending on ground conditions, for preliminary geotechnical site investigation.
How It Works
Extendable steel rod sections are driven into the ground by hand to form a probing string, with resistance felt during advancement giving a quick indication of subsurface strata and relative consistency. The set is particularly useful for initial site investigation work in remote areas where mechanised drilling is impractical, and used in conjunction with a limited number of control boreholes, allows a considerable area to be investigated quickly and cost-effectively.
