Two Gang Prism Mould Manufacturer,Supplier and Exporter in India
Product Code : TVT-CMTE-10389
The Two Gang Prism Mould from Tvet Equipments casts two 25 x 25 x 285 mm cement paste bars simultaneously for autoclave expansion testing, giving laboratories a precise, high-accuracy specimen mould with a fully polished surface for a clean curing finish.
How It Works
Cement paste is cast into the mould's two gang compartments, each producing a bar specimen of 25 x 25 x 285 mm. Brass inserts supplied with the mould are fitted at each end of the specimen before casting to hold the reference gauge studs used for later length-change measurement. The mould's polished internal surfaces help achieve a smooth specimen finish and consistent curing behaviour across both compartments.

Applications
The Two Gang Prism Mould is used to cast cement paste bar specimens for the autoclave expansion test, the standard method (ASTM C151 / IS 4031 Part 3) for detecting unsoundness in Portland cement caused by excess free lime or magnesia. The cast bars are cured, measured for initial length, then autoclaved and re-measured to determine percentage expansion.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1. What test are these specimens used for?
They are used for the autoclave expansion test (ASTM C151 / IS 4031 Part 3), which measures the soundness of Portland cement by detecting excessive free lime or magnesia content through post-autoclave length change.
Q2. Why are brass inserts supplied with the mould?
The brass inserts are fitted at each end of the cast bar to provide the reference gauge studs used for accurate initial and post-autoclave length measurement.
Q3. Why does the mould cast two specimens at once?
Casting two 25 x 25 x 285 mm bars simultaneously in one mould improves laboratory throughput and helps ensure both specimens are cured under identical conditions for a valid comparison.
