How It Works
The mini cone is filled with fresh mortar, paste, or grout in the same manner as a standard slump test, then lifted vertically away from the sample. The sample is allowed to settle or spread under its own weight, and the resulting slump (vertical settlement) or spread (horizontal flow) is measured, giving a quick indicator of medium-to-high workability mixes at a scale better suited to paste and mortar than the full-size cone.
