Aggregate Gravity & Absorption Tester Manufacturer,Supplier and Exporter in India
Product Code : TVT-BATE-10376
The Aggregate Gravity & Absorption Tester from Tvet Equipments determines bulk specific gravity, apparent specific gravity, and absorption of fine and coarse aggregate in under 15 minutes, using a vacuum-based method far faster than conventional soak-and-weigh procedures.
How It Works
The aggregate sample is placed in the instrument's chamber and a vacuum is drawn down to a controlled level, drawing air out of the aggregate's pores and allowing water to fully saturate the sample far more quickly than a standard 24-hour soak. Weighings taken in air and submerged in water, combined with the vacuum-saturated condition, allow the instrument to calculate bulk specific gravity, apparent specific gravity, and water absorption within a single short test cycle.

Applications
The Aggregate Gravity & Absorption Tester provides rapid specific gravity and absorption results aligned with ASTM C127 / ASTM C128, the standard test methods for specific gravity and absorption of coarse and fine aggregate, dramatically reducing test turnaround compared to the standard soak method. It is used in aggregate QC laboratories, asphalt mix design departments, and concrete materials testing facilities needing high sample throughput.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1. How much faster is this than the standard method?
The vacuum saturation process gives full results in under 15 minutes, compared to the roughly 24-hour soak period required by conventional specific gravity and absorption procedures.
Q2. What properties does it measure?
It determines bulk specific gravity, apparent specific gravity, and water absorption for both fine and coarse aggregate in a single test cycle.
Q3. Why is rapid specific gravity testing useful in mix design?
Aggregate specific gravity and absorption values feed directly into Marshall and other bituminous mix design calculations, so faster results let mix design labs iterate more quickly.
