The Digital Penetrometer from Tvet Equipments is a fully automatic instrument for determining the consistency of bituminous materials, measuring needle penetration depth under standard load without manual timing or reading of a dial gauge.
How It Works
After the specimen is levelled using the built-in bubble level and fine-adjustment knob, the operator selects one of the standard penetration timings (5, 15, 30, or 60 seconds) on the large LED screen and keypad. The instrument then releases the needle for the exact selected duration and measures the resulting penetration using a high-accuracy transducer, logging the value automatically; an optional transfer disc and heating element let the same unit test specimens across varying ambient conditions, and results can be sent to a mini printer with the average of multiple readings.
