The Length Comparator Apparatus from Tvet Equipments measures the length variation (expansion or shrinkage) of cement and mortar specimens, giving laboratories a precise dial-gauge instrument to complement expansion and shrinkage mould testing.
How It Works
The specimen, fitted with a reference rod between its embedded gauge studs, is placed vertically in the comparator's adjustable-height beam frame. The analogue dial gauge, reading to 0.001 mm over a 5 mm range, registers the specimen's length against a calibrated zero reference. Measurements taken at set intervals (before and after curing, drying, or autoclave/Le Chatelier expansion procedures) reveal the specimen's length change. Note: this unit is supplied without the reference rod and setting accessories, which must be ordered separately.
