The Hand Operated Vertical Universal Extruder is a free-standing, hand-pump-operated hydraulic extruder capable of extruding soil specimens from 38 mm up to 152 mm in diameter, covering the full range of common Proctor, CBR and undisturbed sample tube sizes.
How It Works
A hand pump drives a hydraulic jack with a total ram stroke of up to 500 mm and a maximum extruding force of 8 tons, advancing the ram smoothly through the mould or tube to push the specimen out with minimal disturbance. The extruder head carries an external thread so that the full range of adaptors — ordered separately to suit the specific mould or tube diameter — can be fitted, giving one base unit the flexibility to handle 38 mm to 152 mm diameter specimens.
