The Percentage Refusal PRD Mould from Tvet Equipments is a vertically split, corrosion-resistant compaction mould used to prepare bituminous specimens for the Percentage Refusal Density (PRD) test, which assesses the degree of compaction achieved in bituminous pavement. Note: this mould is supplied without hammer, supporting frame, and tamping foot, which must be ordered separately.
How It Works
The bituminous mix specimen is compacted inside the vertically split mould using a vibrating hammer, supporting frame, and tamping foot (supplied separately) until refusal density — the point at which further compaction produces no further increase in density — is reached. The corrosion-resistant platen and split-body design allow the compacted specimen to be extracted cleanly for density measurement.
