Magnetic Stirring Bar Retrievers are PTFE-encapsulated retrieval rods fitted with a strong permanent magnet, used to lift stirring bars out of a beaker or flask without needing to reach into or pour out the liquid, preventing bars from being lost or discarded with the sample.
How It Works
The retriever's tip contains a strong Alnico 5 permanent magnet fully encapsulated in PTFE, giving it universal chemical resistance so it can be dipped directly into aggressive acids, solvents or other reactive liquids without degrading. Lowering the retriever into the vessel allows the magnet to attract and lift out a stirring bar cleanly, avoiding the need to tip out or filter the liquid to recover it.
