Beaker insert stirrers

Product Code : TVT-CELE-10722

Beaker Insert Stirrers are a laboratory glassware accessory that converts a standard beaker into a closed, stirred vessel — a conical lid with an integrated stirrer bearing and a captive PTFE magnetic stirring bar fitted with a support shaft.

How It Works

The conical lid is made from chemical-resistant plastic and seats onto the neck of the beaker, sealing the vessel while still allowing access via two pipette openings for sampling or reagent addition during stirring. A captive PTFE-coated magnetic stirring bar is held centrally by the lid's integrated bearing and support shaft, so the bar stays correctly aligned above a magnetic stirrer or hot plate stirrer without wandering or striking the beaker wall, and can be lifted out together with the lid when the beaker needs to be emptied or cleaned.

Applications

Beaker insert stirrers of this type are used across general chemistry, pharmaceutical and materials laboratories wherever a beaker needs to function as a closed, agitated vessel — for example during titrations, reagent mixing or controlled reactions on a magnetic stirrer or hot-plate stirrer, where the captive stirring bar and sealed lid reduce splash and contamination risk compared with an open beaker and loose stirring bar.

Frequently Asked Questions

What beaker sizes does this lid fit?
It is designed for beakers from 100 ml to 2,000 ml capacity, with a neck diameter range of 60-95 mm.

Why is the stirring bar "captive"?
The stirring bar is held by the lid's integrated bearing and support shaft, so it stays centred and lifts out with the lid rather than being loose in the beaker.

Can I still add reagents while the beaker is closed?
Yes, the conical lid includes two pipette openings for sampling or reagent addition during stirring.
