The Cylindrical Magnetic Stirrer Bar is a plain-design PTFE-coated stirring bar built to work with standard magnetic stirrers and hot plate stirrers, providing reliable, chemically resistant agitation for laboratory mixing.
How It Works
Inside the bar, strong alloy magnets are fully sheathed in pure white inert PTFE, so the bar is driven by the rotating magnetic field of a stirrer plate placed beneath the vessel while the PTFE shell keeps the contents of the vessel from ever contacting the magnet directly. Because PTFE is resistant to virtually all chemical attack and can withstand temperatures up to 260°C, the bar can be used across a wide range of aggressive reagents and elevated-temperature mixing tasks.
