Hydrometer Long Stem Manufacturer,Supplier and Exporter in India
Product Code : TVT-MTE-10635
The Hydrometer Long Stem is a calibrated glass instrument used to measure the density (specific gravity) of a liquid or soil-suspension sample by the hydrometer method.
How It Works
The hydrometer is floated freely in a glass measuring cylinder containing the liquid or soil suspension to be tested; it sinks to a depth that depends on the density of the fluid, and the density is read directly from the calibrated scale printed on its long stem at the point where it intersects the liquid surface.
Technical Specifications
| Parameter | Specification |

| Calibrated Range | 0.995 – 1.030 g/ml |
Applications
Long-stem hydrometers are used in the hydrometer method of particle size analysis for fine-grained soils per ASTM D7928: Standard Test Method for Particle-Size Distribution (Gradation) of Fine-Grained Soils Using the Sedimentation (Hydrometer) Analysis and IS 2720 Part 4: Grain Size Analysis, used alongside a glass measuring cylinder to determine the settling rate and density of a soil-water suspension.
